Sleep Training

After hearing friends' horror stories about not getting any sleep until their kids were 18 months old, I really wanted to start Aaron off on the right foot. We took the Taking Cara Babies newborn sleep class when he was a week old and I can't recommend that class enough. I learned so much about starting off healthy habits. I also bought the three month sleep regression bundle and that was so helpful as well. So much changes with their sleep habits in such a short amount of time, so that class was very helpful to get a feel of what to do next.  Aaron was sleeping pretty good, he'd wake up twice a night to eat and Sammy had a system down to take care of him. But then Aaron rolled over on his face in his rock and play and I felt like we needed to move him to his crib. We tried a few nights with no success, so we bought this Magic Merlin sleep suit to try and help with the transition. I couldn't stop laughing when we put him in it. We also got a baby monitor to wat...

Tidying

Yes, I did it. I watched the Netflix show Tidying with Marie Kondo and then proceeded to tear apart my apartment. It's been a journey let me tell you. I haven't been able to clean our apartment since we moved in almost a year ago because I was pregnant, and then I was recovering. The new year seemed like the perfect time to get started. I hoped that by tidying and getting rid of a bunch of stuff, I'd ultimately have less to clean on a daily basis and wouldn't have to stress. I started with my closet and Aaron helped me out. He was very intrigued by my sports bra. In my first pass through the closet, I got rid of three bags worth of clothes. I was talking with a friend about how hard it is to get rid of clothes because there's so much sentiment attached to them. I told her that my post partum depression makes me feel pretty numb, so that's been helping in getting rid of things ;) After clothes I went through our pantry and tried to combine boxes of pasta i...

Outtakes

Here are all the cute pictures of Aaron that I couldn't fit in a specific post.   He wanted to sleep in my armpit   It looks like he's praying. My heart!  He loves this snow cover   He requires quite a few items to stay happy   He loves his Cheez Its

Reading and Dinosaurs

Aaron really likes dinosaurs as you can see. I've been waiting for him to fit in this dinosaur shirt for awhile. He's got his dinosaur book with his shirt with his favorite dinosaur binky. Sometimes I get bored reading Aaron the same books over and over. So I improvise. As long as there are pictures, he's down to read it.   I told him all the things we missed out on in this breastfeeding guide ;)

Grandpa's Birthday

Last year on Sammy's dad's birthday, we told him he was going to be a grandpa by giving him a birthday card that said grandpa all over it. This year, Aaron got to attend his birthday as his cute little four month old self. He played with Lexy and got tickled over and over in hopes he would giggle. He watched tv, his favorite activity to do there. He played with grandma and grandpa. He started shrieking when grandpa held him so he gave him away real quick.   He perched himself like this to watch tv again.   He sat on his uncle's head.  He tried to eat some fish and mashed potatoes but he's going to have to wait on that one. Aaron had a great time with everyone.
