Weekly Randoms

This week Someone came into my store with a flying squirrel on their shoulder. Miley Cyrus was referred to multiple times in my honors economics class, we were talking about Malthus and how passion between the sexes will never die.  I love my professors pin striped jackets and polka dot bow ties I was informed that I should expect Sammy to be robbed at least once at the bank. I'm not ok with this. I don't want to take my ring in to be resized because I want to just wear it. A student who wants to be a doctor referred to periods as " Mother Natures monthly visitor." My professor teased her relentlessly. I shared some writing with my class and they all loved it.  I freaking love my superman cup. I got an iPad. Actually, that was last week but I am in love and it has really helped me get my school work done more effectively. I don't feel so evil selling them hahaha! Also if my grammar and such has declined, that would be from the tiny keyboard.  Oh, and I changed my ...

He listened

As I said yesterday I've been feeling a lot of stress fear and anxiety. This morning I was down on my knees, begging for some reassurance of some kind. And I felt nothing. Absolutely nothing. I've experienced this before and know that I will eventually get an answer, it's just not on my timeframe and I need to be patient. But today, I didn't want to wait, I felt I needed an answer now. Pronto. As I got up i felt discouraged. Not two minutes later my phone buzzed in my pocket. It was a text from my grandma, saying the exact words I needed to hear in that very moment. As I read through them, I felt peace and gratitude. I've always heard those stories about Heavenly Father answering our prayers through others, and that's exactly what he did here. I'm so grateful for a Heavenly Father who listens, and answers my prayers in ways just perfect for me. I'm also really grateful that blogger was being dumb because otherwise I wouldn't have seen my grandmas wor...

Here come the feelings!

Holy cow. I think I've experienced almost every feeling known to man in the last two days. Fear excitement anxiety doubt passion fear confusion happiness, and love love love. I've felt so much love from all my family and friends and my blog friends, so thank you so much! All of Sammy's neighbors came over yesterday to welcome me to the family and that was an awesome experience. I felt so so much love and excitement. Now lets talk bout them other emotions. I thought I was crazy. Moments after Sammy proposed to me, I felt filled with fear. Why? Because I didn't feel that AHHH sun shining down from the sky moment of perfection and rainbows that everyone talks about having, or the reaction you always see on YouTube and tv. I thought something was wrong with me, that this wasn't right, and I was freaking out. The last thing I wanted to do was tell someone what I was feeling, because I didn't want to hear the, are you sure your doing the right thing, something must be...

Engaged!

So yesterday. . . Sammy finally proposed! This is how it went down.  I got a text around five telling me I should go outside. My dog was barking like crazy so I looked out and saw a bunch of cars driving around. Confused I kept looking. Then I saw Sammy creeping out from behind a car. He ran over and three a blindfold over my face and said I was coming with him. I agreed but made him go close my front door. We took off, me giggling, him talking like Kevin from the Office. A few minutes later Sammy said oh crap. Then he said that we were being pulled over. I immediately took off my blindfold and sure enough we were. We pulled over and waited for the cop to come over. I couldn't stop laughing. The cop had his hand on his gun and asked us if everything was ok. We explained that we were going on a date, to which he said oh i hope I didn't ruin the surprise. He checked to make sure my hands weren't tied and then sent us on our way.  I couldn't stop laughing the whole drive d...

Little Bit o Writing- between classes edition

Please excuse if this isn't biologically correct. My veins were going to start a protest soon. A full fledged marching around with signs and banners fight for their right to party. Actually just for the right to be able to do their job, and take away that nasty oxygen depleted blood. They'd probably borrow some acid from my stomach to use as ink, and indigestible carrot bits for the signs. As for their march, well they'd be able to make it all the way from Toe Avenue to Armpit Express. After that though is where the trouble began. Five meaty officers stood, arms crossed, feet dried into the cement from ages ago. They weren't going to move anytime soon. My veins would try in vain to find away around but as the officers closed in, tighter and tighter, their strength somehow multiplying over time instead of decreasing, my veins would find they had no choice but to stay put, swelling while they looked on helplessly at  their brothers on the other side.       "Either...

My favorite moments

My favorite dates and moments aren't the big ones. They aren't the big fancy shmancy dates  that cost a billion dollars. The year anniversaries or Valentine's day or birthdays. Or even going to the zoo. My favorite moments are usually the little ones that come after. When I'm feeling sick and we just snuggle. The week after the one year anniversary when we just laughed and talked with no pressure. Giggling and banging on car windows for just one more goodbye. The days spent doing nothing at all, but mean everything. Just going for a walk. The day after birthdays and holidays when all that pressure is gone. That doesn't just count with Sammy. With everyone for that matter. Times just talking about bands and computers and classes with my dad. Telling my mom the weirdest facts until late late late and she just stays and listens. When my sister calls me to tell me I went too far when I was the one who was supposed to be showing her where to go. Laughing with my brothe...

The Zoo- part two

I now have all my pictures from the zoo! First off, the whole time we were there, I was checking all the benches for my former teachers name. She passed away just two years ago and I still think about her and occasionally check her blog to see the cute things her kids are up to. That's how I found out about her bench in the first place. We found it when our legs were giving out and we were hungry and tired, (oh wait, that was just me haha!) and it was a cool moment. I want to help make sure that that amazing wife mother sister friend and teacher to many is remembered. This was my second favorite animal that we saw at the zoo.  Exotic squirrel! This is my boyfriend. He is Batman. Except not a party animal, he talks normal, isn't super depressing, and I love him. And I just love this picture I got :)

WARNING!!!! If you use the internet, know the word 'smartphone,' or are breathing, YOU ARE AT RISK

Warning! This is some very important security information. If you know anyone who uses the internet, especially sites such as Facebook, this is a must read! This contains important security information that MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE!!! Security is very difficult on the internet. With xif data in photos, tagging recognition, and global warming, death is around every corner. And if you get your security updates from Facebook shares, you are in even more danger. Because like most things, Facebook is years behind on it's security information. So what to do?! How can one stay safe in the ever changing world of the internet, smartphones, and information stealing?! How do we keep ourselves and our loved ones safe in this world of people without good intentions. There are a few options 1. Don't get a smartphone      a. Oh wait, most of the world wouldn't be able to make it without a smartphone. 2. Don't get a Facebook      a. Oh wait, that's impossible too Ok, ...

Just some thoughts

Let's be honest. Life isn't always awesome. There isn't always some picturesque situation. We plaster on those smiles and walk around feeling empty. We have stories we want to share, scream, get off our chests but can't. Because they're not entirely ours to tell. But that doesn't mean they don't weigh down as much. Sometimes the thought of tomorrow brings dread. What do we do? We can look for the bad, and find it. Everywhere. We can lie in fear. We can hold it in. Hide it. Ignore it. Run. Or We can face it. Find the little good things. Be honest with ourselves. Just because one bad thing happened doesn't mean that the entire day is ruined. Be forgiving, especially of ourselves. Read Office quotes. Take a break. Take care of ourselves. Take it one day at a time. Just one day at a time. Just some thoughts from the past few days. I'll probably forget them and need to be reminded again, maybe tomorrow. But it's going to be ok. Every day is ...

The Zoo- Part one

We went to the zoo today! I've been wanting to go for about a year now and Sammy finally took me! Last night I started to freak out and get anxious about going and couldn't sleep. But Sammy was patient with me and even drove and guess what. The world didn't end. Nothing completely horribly terrible happened. It was a great time! It was such a great date with my best friend. : )  I asked Sammy what his favorite animal was to see and he said the dogs. Then he asked if there would be all different breeds of dogs for him to pet. He's such a dork. As soon as we got to the zoo he started singing the Jurassic Park theme song. To which I said, wrong zoo! (Then I watched Jurassic Park tonight when I got home hahaha!) Of course we took a bunch of pictures. And Sammy's turned out better than mine, but I don't have them yet, so alas only my many, many, many pictures of the lizards. I have a lizard problem. I love them. I have ever since fourth grade when we ha...

Strawberry Pie and Curls

This is the correct way to eat strawberry pie when your blessed mother makes some out of the kindness of her heart And I left my hair in french braids yesterday and the curls turned out perfect! Sometimes even us curly haired girls need a little assistance.

Blessed

Sammy got offered a job at a bank today!!!!! I'm so excited I can hardly contain it. This is something we've been waiting for for months. Something we've hoped and prayed for. And now, it's here! He got the job!!!! We can afford to live on our own with this! Not only that but the bank he got hired at is located right in the best place for us to use the bus system to get around. What I'm most grateful for is that banks are closed on Sundays. I don't have to worry about him working on Sundays. Or late every night. He'll get off around the time I get off so I'll get to spend time with him. And he still gets to go to school. We've truly been blessed by Heavenly Father. I can't even grasp how much of a blessing and amazing this is and it couldn't have come at a better time.  All the little pieces are starting to fall together. All those times I've wanted to give up. All those times I've STILL gotten that good feeling to hold on. And no...
It's been a crazy weekend, so crazy I've only gotten one picture. Lots of mall trips, great food, and laughs. Sammy shushed me for the first time ever which made me love him that much more. We made rolls, played with the doggy, ate and ate. And learned a lot. I love all my family and am glad they're here.
