Thanksgiving

We were lucky to be able to spend Thanksgiving with both our families. But, Aaron woke up that morning pretty grumpy. We were hoping that once we got to my mom's and he played for a bit, he'd be happier, but that didn't happen. He spent most of the time watching Little Baby Bum.  Sammy and I spent some time throwing Aaron's football back and forth while watching the Bears play. (They actually won that day.) He absolutely refused to nap and didn't want to eat so we put his show on and let him do his thing while we ate. The food was absolutely delicious, and I got to drink my Sprite out of my fancy glass. After lunch Aaron went with Grandma and played some guitar while we watched the dog show. Then we left and drove around in circles for him to take a car nap. I need to remember when it comes with Aaron that we need to keep our expectations pretty low that way we aren't disappointed with how days go. After his nap, Aaron was a lot happier. He ha...

Scared

I was vacuuming one morning and Aaron got really scared. So I held him like this and finished. He clung to me for a good ten minutes afterwards so so tight. I’m glad that he’ll go to me when he’s scared and I’ll always be there.

Pumpkin Patch

We took Aaron to his first pumpkin patch and he loved it! We went twice, once with a friend and once with Sammy.  They had a tractor he could sit on and he immediately started turning the wheel. Before the pumpkin patch we went and got Indian food and Aaron was chatting with another baby there. He usually doesn't like other babies, but this was a boy and he was restrained in a high chair and couldn't touch him, so Aaron chatted away.  Also I love this shirt so much! We let Aaron pick his own baby pumpkins. Originally we let him get two that he really loved, but it was cheaper to get four so four pumpkins it was! The one he's holding in this picture was his favorite and he wouldn't let it go and wanted to hold it in his car seat.  My handsome boys:) There's nothing cuter than a baby holding a pumpkin.  They had animals and Aaron loved looking at them. His favorite was the chickens. He wouldn't let go of their cage when it w...

Leaves

Aaron played in the leaves for the first time. He wasn't sure what to think about it at first, and was very contemplative. It was so fun to watch.  He kept ripping them apart.  Remi was outside barking and he kept cooing along.  This fall has been so much fun. Last year he was so little and we were inside most of the time. This year we get to go out and see the beautiful world. It makes me so happy.

Bessie

After months of being scared of her, Aaron is starting to warm up to the animatronic dinosaur we were gifted. I've been teaching him to pet her nicely and he giggles whenever I say nice Bessie. One night we put him on top to see if he wo old be okay with it, and he sure was. The dinosaur can bounce up and down and he LOVED it. That's the look of pure joy.  He didn't like it once I turned her back on though. Baby steps.

One

My friend was so kind and took pictures of Aaron for his first birthday. They are absolutely perfect and capture his personality perfectly.  I can't believe I have a toddler now. I can't believe how much he's grown over the past year.  It's been so humbling and magical to watch him discover everything for the first time. This world can be a nasty place, but it can also be so beautiful.  We're so blessed with Aaron. He has a pretty chill personality for the most part, and he sleeps like a champ. He's super giggly and smiley, but also contemplative.  I can't believe he couldn't even hold up his neck, and now he's almost walking.  He's my little twin and best friend. I never knew how special a relationship with a son can be. He loves carbs, balls, wheels, going to Grandma's house, Taylor Swift, and his pacifiers.  We've had so much support this last year and I'm so grateful for it.  ...
