Meg Cabot :)

I promise I'll finish blogging about Spring break, but this is more important. Haha. So, I. Love. Reading. As you probably didn't know. And my favorite author hands down in Meg Cabot. She's so amazing. I always know that when I pick up one of her books, I'm in for a good day. And probably a little sadness at the end when it's over. But thats completely different than that feeling when you read a really sad book. But she's such a great author! All her books have amazing heroines who are spunky and in crazy situations that she makes believable. Her books are never depressing. I HATE depressing books, no matter how touching they are or how much they make you think. There are just too many of them out there. I've been on a search in the library for books that don't look sad, and that's PRETTY hard to find. Plus she's got books in tons of genres! She's got your rockstars solving murder mysteries. Your girl struck by lightning who can find miss...

Vacaciones de Primavera- Part 1

Guess what! It's Spring Break! YEEESSSS!!!!! The week I've been waiting for. That means it's almost over! ALMOST OVER! No more school with immature people who think it's cool to stick pickles and ketchup on cars. *This isn't my car.* Messed up right? I thought so. It smelt so bad! I hope the deans ketch em! Get it? Ketch? Hahahaha, I'm funny.  Anyways. It's Spring break! I'm living it up, the awesome way. While everyone else is getting drunk, I've been writing and watching Lord o the Rings and learning how to do my hair like them! Yeah ya! Today I went to Red Rocks with the bestby! It was loads of fun! First, I braided my hair Lord o the Rings style. Then I made biscuits because the bestby's mom was joking that since I wake up so early I should make them biscuits! Well, I got distracted writing and this happened. . .  At least I was able to find an artistic way to take their picture, right? Ha. Anyways, we drove to Red Rocks and the bestby...

This Makes Me Happy :)

Sorry this is so short. My dad got a new monitor today and it's so bright I have to wear sunglasses to type. I'm being legit here. . . But I had to share this! Thanks mommm!! :)

Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming

I went to my first swim meet today, and unfortunately it won't be my last. It wasn't that bad, it was actually kind of cool but I just didn't want to see half my school almost naked. Shivers. It was a little stressful at first because in my hurry to get to the swim meet, I grabbed a camera bag out of my parents closet, looked in it, saw a camera, and then ran to the car. The bestby was coming with me because all his friends are on the swim team and because he's a great friend :) When I got to his house to pick him up, while I was waiting, I looked at the camera to make sure the batteries were charged. That was when I discovered it wasn't my mom's fancy digital camera that takes GREAT action shots, but in fact, an old fashioned camera that required FILM. That's right ladies and gentleman, film. GASP! I took photography back in 10th grade but I wasn't confident with my skills with a film camera to put film in it and take pictures. My heart sank. I though...

I Did It!

Guess what blogging friends?! You know that college interview I had last week, you can read all about it on here  if you don't haha, well anyways. . . . I got in the Honors Program! I'm so excited! But I'm most excited about SCHOLARSHIPS! I got two letters in the mail today with scholarship offers in them, totaling $9500. I'm so excited! It's not good to put all your eggs in one basket but since I couldn't get a job and handle school at the same time I just hoped for scholarships. My dad was right, there's no way I would have been able to make that kind of money flipping burgers. This is truly a blessing and I'm so grateful for it. I got an answer to my prayers about where I was supposed to go back in Septemberish but then everything that could go wrong seemed to go wrong. My forms didn't upload so I was classified as a non resident, I lost my acceptance letter with my student id, and now that id isn't working so I can't tell them I'm o...

Nerd Alert!

We're starting archery in gym which is exciting because we'll FINALLY be done with ping pong but scary because most people in that class have the maturity of a five year old. And those arrows are sharp. I'd very much like to not die! The bestby's excited because he can be like Legolas from Lord o the Rings. We got into a whole discussion about how those elves don't have time to make cookies in trees because they're too busy fighting orks. It's so cuuuttteeee to have a boyfriend who's nerdy like me! This morning he told me that Orlando Bloom's hotter in Pirates than Lord of the Rings and I have to agree. He's only ok with me saying actors are hot if he thinks they are too. At least he has good taste. Hahahaha :) And hey, it's ok he likes that elf princess, she's really pretty! I will admit it. I like her better than the blonde.  He is bringing his index finger to the corner of his mouth, the proper form. Bahahaha. I've finally figur...

Hunger Games

Ok. The Hunger Games movie comes out in a few days. Not going to lie I'm pretty excited to see it. But I would just like the world to know that I read them two weeks after they'd been published. I couldn't even get an author biography for my freshman english class. I remember we had to share about what we were reading in groups. Everyone else in my group was only ten pages into their book. I told them about mine, how it was about teens in a crazy society that had to fight to the death on television. They all looked at me like I was a freak and went uhmm, ok? And now? THEY'RE ALL FREAKING EXCITED TO WATCH THE MOVIE. Stupid people. Only take time to pick up a book if they've been made into a movie. You know all those Twilight fans? The ones who only watched the movies that is. Did you know that the first people who proposed to buy the movie rights were going to make it into a spy movie and Bella was going to be a track star and it was going to be NOTHING like the bo...

Surprise!

So this morning I was talking to the bestby before church and I asked him what he was up to today. He said washing his car and something else with a ;) Being the perceptive person I am, I knew that meant he was going to ask me to prom. Him asking what time I get back from church the day before also helped hahaha! I didn't know how he was going to though so I was excited all day. My parents and the Tanman spoke in church today! They did an excellent job. It was so weird seeing my little brother up there speaking! He was just asking what soap was the other day, now he's speaking in church?! Gasp! My parents were pretty funny, my mom cleared up the fact that I'm the older sister. A year ago I would be ok with that because she was more mature than me at times, but not now that she's going through her angsty phase while I'm acting like an adult. Hahaha! But my mom talked about how secular knowledge and spiritual go hand in hand and how spiritual helps with everything. ...

:)

I know, I know. This is like my third blog of the day. BUT IT'S SO ADDICTING! And I just got off the phone with Britton who's up in Idaho having the college experience complete with potatoes. And then I got on here to work on the story I'm working on right now and I got distracted by pictures and nostalgia of all the amazing people I'm friends with because of church. And being the new person with actual FEELINGS I've become this year, all these pictures made me tear up a little bit. So hence this post. I just thought I'd share them. I wouldn't be who I am today without them and we've had a lot of laughs and tears. Most tears were girls camp testimony meeting induced though. I love you guys :) Please note, I don't know how to work the picture thing on here, so they're all over the place.

Popcorn Poppin'

I was doing my makeup and my mom came up behind me and she was like look! It's popcorn popping on the apricot tree! And I was like whoa, I wanna take a picture for my blog and she was like, whoa I knew you would that's why I showed you. So here it is! I loved how the background blurred and you could just see the flower, hence the two pictures :) You are totally allowed to use this to hang on your wall or something, just by the way. For those of you who didn't grow up singing the song Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree, here are the words. I looked out the window and what did I see, Popcorn popping on the apricot tree. Spring has brought me such a nice surprise, Blossoms popping right before my eyes, I could take a handful and make a treat, A popcorn ball that would smell so sweet. It wasn't really so, but it seemed to be, Popcorn popping on the apricot treeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! Now that you know the words, you can sing along!   http://www.yo...
