20 Week Ultrasound/ Gender Reveal

Technically our 20 week ultrasound was on the last day of week 19, but who's counting ;) Before I was pregnant, I thought that I would spend every single day wondering what the babies gender was, and would have a countdown until I could find out, and that it would drive me crazy. It really hasn't though. Before that point, I would sometimes forget for hours that I was pregnant, and when I would try and 'feel' what the gender was, I felt nothing. As far as the gender went, we had a girl name that I absolutely adored and felt so right. I would be lying if I didn't say I wanted to buy girl clothes as well, and had dreams of raising a strong lady. All of the dreams I had, I was holding a girl as well. But I still didn't feel one way or the other very strongly.    Most of my family thought that we were having a boy, along with half of my coworkers. Sammy's family all thought it was a girl though. Sammy didn't feel very strongly either what it was. I didn...

Weeks 18-19

Week 18 I'm pretty sure that I felt the baby move this week. I was laying in bed in the morning and telling Sammy that I wished I could feel the baby move. I started poking around my stomach where it's hard, then felt this little flick three times. I wasn't sure if it was my stomach digesting or what so I waited, then felt it one more time. I'd never felt anything like it, so I'm pretty sure it was the baby. I kept poking my belly every day after that trying to make it happen again, but there was nothing. Sammy and I exchanged these messages. We had this weird moment at church where a missionary was talking about her friends conversion story. As she talked, Sammy and I kept looking at each other because this person sounded familiar to someone we both interact with on Twitter. I broke my rule of not getting on the internet during church and messaged her to ask if she knew this missionary. Turns out she did! It's such a small world sometimes. Star Wars ...

Arizona Trip

Sammy and I went on a road trip to Arizona at the end of April and we had a wonderful time. Leading up to the trip I was getting really anxious about traveling while pregnant, especially because the original path we were going to take was right through the mountains. I get carsick on normal days; I did not want to see what my body had in store going through those winding roads at such a high elevation while pregnant. Honestly I thought about canceling multiple times because of how stressed out it was making me. After a night filled with anxiety, I prayed to know whether I was supposed to go at all, and if I was what the best way to get there would be. The very next morning Sammy woke up and told me he'd been researching while I was sleeping a better route to take that wouldn't be in the middle of the mountains and would be on more major highways with bigger cities along the way. I instantly felt better and like that was the right way to go.  The morning of the trip...

Weeks 13-17

Week 13  We went to the doctor and got to see the baby again. This time the ultrasound was on my stomach and much more pleasant than the first ;) It blew my mind when the doctor put the wand down and found the baby immediately. This time the baby actually looked like a baby, and was moving all around. It was crazy to see all the things it was doing in there, that I can't feel. It was waving its arms, stretching its legs, and floating. We heart the heartbeat which was 145 bpm and so cool. It was reassuring to see that the baby was okay. I asked the doctor about all the weird pains and sensations I've had and afterwards Sammy was like, "I had no idea you were feeling so many things." Well, I am. I've discovered where my sciatic nerve is for starters. I'm a little nervous at what that's going to change into as I get bigger.  We had a game night with friends and I won the second time, which I was pretty proud of. We stayed out past 11 though and I pai...
