Museums are fun when the sun shines too.

Remember Night at the museum? Yeah, well museums are fun during the day too. Sammy and I were in need of a fun date after the past few weeks, so to the museum we went! It was on our summer bucket list but we never really made it. Until this Saturday! It was a great date! Especially since both of us have been learning so much and were able to apply our knowledge at the museum. I had great fun telling Sammy if the skeletons were boys or girls and showing him their versions of the same bones we have. He taught me alllll about Egypt and such. I was quite impressed. It was a great day of being silly. Poop!  One time a friend asked Sammy and I why our relationship works so well. I said it's because we can talk about poop. Hahaha! Seems like he's giving up the Coke. My deer in the headlights look Posing with the lynxes. They're my school's mascot! Kisses for Jacob.  Sammy posed with Hugh Jackman and brother, in wolverine form of course. ...

Last Friday Night.

Ok, go one Friday forward from last friday night, and you'll have today. Which was a great day! Thank goodness! I had UHL all day. It's getting better. Sort of. Some things my professor said made me question what I'm doing here again. I want to write. That's what I've always wanted to do. That's where my passion is. We discussed a lot about how everyone feels such a push to go to college, but only about 30% of the people who go actually end up getting a degree. A few decades ago, that was a much different story. Now, a bachelor's degree is worth basically nothing. Everyone gets those, even if they don't actually need it for their job. So why get into tons of debt if you already know your passion and can learn it another way. That's what we discussed today. I'm not going to go drop out tomorrow or anything, just something to think about. The worst part of UHL today was the fact that our guest speaker wasn't able to finish her presentation ...

Oh sun. I love you.

Today was muchly needed. After a week I didn't know how to get through, who would have thought going swimming, not one of my favorite things in the world, would be the thing to make me feel better? Well it did the trick. When the bestby suggested we go swimming, I agreed. It sounded fun. I hadn't been all summer and I was running out of time. But then this morning was a little crazy. Things to get done. Swimsuit didn't fit. You know. All those things. Being me, that was grounds to freak out. When we got to the pool, I just wanted to go back home. But the bestby was patient with me and got me in. Then it was like everything just melted away. Within minutes I was giggling like crazy and we were all smiles. Just playing in the water, laying in the sun. Just what I needed. I'm thankful for such a patient supportive best friend. A family who loves me and rearranges things so I can have a muchly needed day. A beautiful Friday afternoon by the pool, being able to finally r...

Nesting-Pre Dorm Room Edition

Lately, I've been noticing some changes. When I walk into a store, my eyes immediately find the sale rack. Then when they're done finding all types of goodies there, they wander over to. . . The housing department. It's been happening in every store. It's like the plates are calling to me. "You need me, you'll be happy if you eat off me." All the cutesy garbage cans, laundry baskets, clocks, EVERYTHING. I have a problem. I think I'm nesting. But not in the preggo way, in the pre dorm room way. I have less than two weeks until I move in. AYE CARAMBA! I'm scared. Nervous. Mostly just about the first few days because I'll be moving in, having to attend all these orientations, and ha, oh yeah, go work at the bookstore where it will be very, very busy. Since school's starting and all. I'm kind of having a stress meltdown you could say. Wondering if I'm taking on too much for my first semester, 14 credits, my first serious job, living o...

. . . He's BACK!

. . . He's BACK!!!! The bestby's back! I'm thankful he's back because, I missed him, and I could finally communicate all the things I couldn't over the phone. His mom texted me the day he left and asked if I wanted to come with her to pick him up from the airport. Of course I said yes. So today I drove over to his house, got there about twenty minutes before we were even supposed to leave, and we were on our way. I'm so glad that it's so easy to get along with his mom. I learned a whole lot today during that drive. The funniest parts were when he'd be on the phone with his mom and I'd have to be so quiet and then he would text me seconds later saying the exact same thing I'd heard him say to his mom. Anyways. I hid in the back and ducked and fought the urge to look up. I was so excited to see him! The back door opened, they loaded up their luggage, fought over the shot gun. The bestby had no idea I was sitting inches away. When he lost the batt...

Dear Tuesday

Dear Tuesday, You turned out to be a great day. Dear Batman, I can't believe Christian Bale came here, on his own. When I heard the news I couldn't stop smiling and got goosebumps. I have a new respect for him now. Go Batman! Dear Razor, I'm growing out my armpit hair in protest of the bestby leaving again. It seems like the right thing to do. Plus, it'll be so satisfactory to shave next week! Woo! Dear Library, Why are you filled with so many sad books? Well, let me rephrase that. Why was every book I picked up about serial killers or sleeping with a teacher? I want to read a happy book. Next time I will come with a list. Your air conditioning was muchly needed though. And I love your comfy couches in the political section, my bum needed it. Thanks for a great day. Dear Dorm, I'll be moving in a couple of weeks. I'm getting pretty excited and sad at the same time. Dear Water, I can't get enough of you. Dear Camera, I need to put you back ...

Game On

I'm not one of those people who wakes up in the morning and is like OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS I WANT TO PLAY A GAME! They're just not really my thing. Whenever I've been at church camps and activities and heck, recess, I've always dreaded the little games. The teamwork games. The slap hand games. The remember everyone's animal sound sign games. Video games. Those ones. I've just never really gotten into them. I'd rather talk, think, write, relax, be silly. That's just me. But there are three games I rather enjoy. Clue being the first. I'm a boss at Clue. Or at least I was the last time I played it. The second, is whenever I go out to eat with a friend, if they ever get a refill on their drink before leaving, I go hide from them. It's so funny. They just stare around lost and confused at how I somehow got away from them while they were engrossed in their refill. My third favorite is leaving things in the bestby's little brothers room, and ...

Go ahead, run your fingers through my hair

I love it when people play with my hair. Love. Love. Love. I thought everyone loved this, but then I asked a whole lot of friends, and they said they didn't. They're seriously missing out. I have this memory of me laying in my mom's lap in this room with big black bookshelves and storage shelfs, and plants, and her playing with my hair. I can't think of any place I've been with big black bookshelves and storage shelves and plants though. I don't know if this actually even happened. But it's a nice memory. I still love laying on my mom's lap and her playing with my hair. And I love it when the bestby plays with my hair. He finally learned how to do it right. Yep there's a right and a wrong way. One of those little moments that make me happy. :) So do turkey stakes. And fry sauce. Frozen yogurt. Spending time with my family. My brother coming home. And the bestby with my family, eating turkey stakes dipped in fry sauce after frozen yogurt. It was a...

I Can't Find My Batman Shirt!

As many of you may know, The Dark Knight Rises comes out in approximately 25 hours. If you didn't know that, that's ok. I've know this since last summer, when the bestby and I went to see Harry Potter with some of my favorite people and he clutched my hand so tight and sat straight up in his seat, gasping and saying he couldn't believe this, he couldn't believe this was real, that BATMAN was returning! It was the cutest thing I'd ever seen, but I had no idea at the time just how deep his love for Bruce Wayne went at the time, so his out of the blue excitement scared me a little bit. Now? Now I know his Batman voice from his Bane voice from his Joker voice. I know why Bane's voice sounds like it does. I know where the Batman section of our local comic book store is. I've had to tell him multiple times that I won't kiss him when he tells me to in his Batman voice. ;) I know when a Batman commercial is coming on just from the chanting. I don't e...

Dear Wednesday

Dear Wednesday, Thank you for letting me sleep in. :) It was muchly appreciated. Dear Victoria's Secret, Goodbye. I put in my two weeks notice yesterday. I hope you don't miss me too much. Ha. Ha. Ha. Dear Campus Bookstore, Thank you for hiring me. Thank you for hiring me on the spot. I have high hopes that things will be much more enjoyable with you. Plus, you aren't open on Sundays, so I won't have to worry about that. But alas, you are just a temporary job for the start. I will work my butt off. Hopefully that will be enough to stay. Dear Traffic, Thank you for letting me get to where I needed to be on time, twice. :) Dear Ginger, Thanks for waking me up at four in the morning because you wanted a treat. And when said treat went under the stove, you wanted another one. Then you wouldn't come back to bed because you wanted to get the treat under the stove. You're a dork. But I still love you. Dear Family, Thank you for the fun day yesterday. Wh...

Confessions

I have some confessions to make. 1. I really, really, REALLY want to meet Randy from Say Yes to the Dress. Like, really bad. But, I would never spend thousands of dollars on a wedding dress from Kleinfelds, so that's a bit of a problem. 2. I've always wanted to live in a little house. I've never dreamt of mansions, I've dreamt of little cottages. So when I found this website, my imagination went a little crazy.  Tumbleweed Houses 3. I made a twitter just so I could tell Jeffrey Donovan that I used a quote from his show as my senior quote. And that his future mother in law taught me astronomy. He didn't reply. I haven't gotten on since. 4. I have a phobia of puking. It's starting to get really bad. 5. During my Singing in the Rain cute date sugar high, the bestby and I got promise rings. The one I picked during my sugar high hurts my finger. So I now have this one. His is already turning his finger green. Hahaha! 6. I'm not even sure if b...

Singing In the Rain

Last year, the bestby was in a Film Study class. One of the most coveted classes in all of high school. Getting graded to watch movies? Who doesn't want that? (It was a much harder class than everyone thought, just by the way.) I wanted to take that class as well. My favorite parts of movies is watching the bonus features on how they're made. But alas. 2/3 of the movies they watched were rated r. I made a personal decision for myself two years ago that I would never watch another R rated movie after watching many. So when I saw film study on my schedule, I sadly went and got it removed and switched for a different class. But I wished that I could take the class and learn about how movies were made. Luckily for me, my English teacher was teaching the bestby's film study class. And it just so happened to be on my off hour. So one day I had a talk with him, explained my dilemma, and he let me sit in on his class whenever they weren't watching R movies! I was a dang good ...

The Bestby Loves the Bachelorette.

I'm Home!!!! It feels so great! I had a great time out in Utah but its good to be back home. Guess who was waiting for me in the driveway?! If you guessed the bestby, you would be correct. I ran over to him like I have never ran before. By the time I was done hugging him, the fan had half the car unpacked. Actually, they didn't. But it was a very very long muchly needed hug. I was so happy. I really missed him. But I didn't let that stop me from having a good time with relatives. I feel a little stronger now, having gone this long without him. Since he was over, he helped unpack and then we caught up and watched the Bachelorette together. When Emily was describing all the guys in the beginning, he told me that all of those guys were just trying to hard to be like him. Made me laugh! I missed my little nerd! Did I mention that already? He was then unimpressed with Sean and was analyzing all of his body language. He told me he likes Jef because he turned down the fantasy su...

Temple Stroll

This is a very personal post, so please be respectful. If you want to learn more about what I'm talking about and temples, go Here . Thank you. :) Part of the summer bucket list was to go to the temple with the bestby. He's never been up close to a temple before and was so excited. Today we went! Last night we both had crazy butterflies. He was so cute, he was on the internet looking at pictures and telling me which were the prettiest and all the ones he wanted to go to. (My personal favorite is the Manila Phillipines Temple. My seminary teacher gave me a picture of it for my birthday two years ago because it was rededicated on my birthday. Why'd it have to be rededicated? Because it got hit with a cannonball in a revolution. How cool is that?!? Plus it's pretty.)  I could hardly sleep, I was so excited to go. Deep down I was a little scared though because you always hear all those horror stories about people who are just trying to go and their car breaks down, ...
