He Said Of Course

So. I've been dating this boy named Sammy for quite some time. And we've been making plans for quite some time. And we've been praying for quite some time. And I even tried on wedding dresses. Well, I got tired of waiting, so I decided to propose to Sammy. First, I've been googling how to propose to your boyfriend for quite some time, just curious if I was crazy or if other ladies do this as well. It turns out they do! And in Ireland woman propose to their men on leap day. Since there isn't another leap day coming around for quite some time, I decided to just do it. The plan came together very quickly. I wrote a little speech and decided that I was going to put the ring in a donut. The only problem was, I didn't have a car. So my mom so very nicely drove me around to all the different places. But we had to get some dinner first. We went to the ever so healthy McDonalds and ordered up some grub. They told us to pull forward and wait. Five minutes passed. The...

Hand Wash Only Means Hand Wash Only

My mom found this in the dishwasher today. Guess when it says handwash only, it really means it. This is seriously the funniest thing I've ever seen. I want to take it everywhere! But it'll only hold a sip of water now hahaha! Also, I returned my friends jacket today. I didn't know if she would be home and I didn't want some crazy person stealing her beloved boyfriend's jacket, so I took preventative measures. Her mom was home though, so it wasn't needed, but it made me laugh

Kissing Jo Go Le

Not really! At school, I had pictures of Joseph Gordon Levitt on my wall and multiple people told me that Sammy looks like Jo Go Le. Which is awesome! Cause he's my celebrity crush, so I kinda get to date my celebrity crush too! And kiss him! Ahh yeah : ) But Sammy's cooler. And he'll be around longer. And he kind of likes me too. Which is always a bonus. And he drives down to Denver just to spend a lunch break with me because I unexpectedly had to work longer. Which is so awesome and cute and yeah! And Sammy doesn't get paid to kiss other girls. He only kisses me. Well, and puppies. The end.

Dreams

On a whim I decided to email an author of a series I'd just finished telling her how much I loved it. It was a dystopian series and well written, and you could tell she wasn't just dragging the story out as long as possible to make more money. In fact, I had to order the last book online since the bookstores don't even carry her in the actual store. And she emailed me back, saying that I made her week! It seriously made me grin so big. I LOVED that she had the time to write me back. And she even wished me luck on my writing! The series was also a little similar to the story that I've been working on for a year now but that's been in my head for much longer than that. As I was reading through I could feel that love that she has for her characters that I have for these particular characters of mine. I know everything about them. When they were born, why they do certain things, all about their kids and grandkids, just everything. It's all in my head and these...

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! I went out to see Star Trek with my dad and it. was. EPIC! I love going to the movies with my dad. I love getting to see Star Trek with him. He loves it and I love getting to share in that and learn about it myself for the first time. I love my dad so much, and am so blessed by all the things he does for me. He's an awesome amazing man and always has my back. He's always been such a hard worker and loves to learn.  I always get so excited when I see Star Trek things, hear about mixers, see motherboards, or anything connected to my dad because it reminds me of him. I'm thankful he's always able to help me with my computer and anything related to that. Or all my physics homework. I'm glad he always told me to do my stupid SOAR projects. I love my dad. Now for the sake of internet security, which he has taught me much of, I must cut this short so as not to give away our identities ; )

Little Bit o Writing

Favor We both know that you know That I know what was taken All those mornings I drove You singing in the back seat Sun burning sleepy eyes, squeezing Shut. Shut to fingers slowly, ever So slowly sliding the zipper Left to right. Finding folded Bills. Taking them as your Own. Right to left this time Jeweled fingers back on your own lap You kept singing And I kept driving

Scared- and it's not weather related.

Two months after Sammy and I started dating, one of his good friends and his girlfriend of a year broke up. Out of the blue (to me.) It really shook me up, we'd just hung out with them days before and they'd seemed so happy, him picking her up and laughing and all that nice stuff. I thought they were so cute and hoped that we would be like them. And then the next day they were over. Just like that. That kept happening over and over for the next few months, our friends kept breaking up and they'd seemed fine days before. Every time that happened I'd tell Sammy that I was a little scared. He'd tell me hey, that's not us. We're not breaking up. We're in charge of our own relationship. Now, everywhere I look people are getting divorced. And it's really shaking me up again. Now, I don't know these people very well, they aren't my best friends. I'm not pretending to have the slightest idea of what's going on in their lives behind the scre...

How to make sleepy college freshman laugh at 8 in the morning

On Wednesday I had the opportunity to do a little presentation to some incoming college freshmen about the bookstore. When I signed up to do this I was really excited, but then as I was walking over to the stage I was absolutely terrified. It didn't help that the three presenters that went before me came out going "Dead crowd. That was rough." That really makes you excited to go talk to people. But I went out and. . . . They laughed! All you have to do is relate everything to the fact they can buy it without their mom, that they can record it for their mom, or that they will inevitably be going through some sort of breakup. That's it. I'm glad that first presentation went alright because I'm going to be doing these all summer. Another perk was they gave me free muffins. Being paid to sit and eat? I'll take that!

My Name is Kylee

My name is Kylee. Only a few people are able to get this right on the spot though, so let me help you. My name is spelled K Y L E E. Pronouced KKKiiiiiiiilllllleeeeeeeeeee! Please notice the absence of an a. My name is not Kaylee. No a. Look one more time, there's still no a. I once had an art teacher who told me that since my name ends in two ee's that my name is Kaylee. Even though there is no a. He would not stop arguing with me. He thought he was right. I instantly lost all respect from him and didn't care when he gave me my first C in middle school. The sound of Daughtry automatically makes me angry because that's what he always played in his class. I've pretty much given up on correcting people on my name though. I have three co-workers who I see quite often who always call me Kaylee and I don't correct them. I didn't bother to the first time they said my name wrong and now I don't want to embarrass them or come off rude. It's not really a bi...

My Wallet Hurts, and I Almost Bought an iPad

I always get a little sad when I finish a book. Especially when I finish one and the next one isn't coming out for a year. A whole year! I've found a cure though! It's quite a revolutionary concept. Read another book. So, that's why I have four different series going right now and have started crawling Goodreads at night. Now if only the libraries actually had all the books I wanted to read. . . So I didn't have to justify buying them all. My wallet is currently hurting. Speaking of wallets hurting. . . All year I've been saving up to go to the VS Semi Annual Sale. I have a sort of problem with that store so I only go during the sale. Well yesterday at work I got a bit nervous so I googled when the sale was. It said it started June sixth. I started freaking out because that was last week and all the good stuff was going to be gone. So right after work I got my sister and headed over to the mall (they ALWAYS have better stuff than the store I worked at. Plu...

Giggles

Avocado earrings Someone found this picture of my boss and made it our desktop background. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it. I can't wait for him to get back from Hawaii and see it.  I found my My Little Pony collection. This was before they made the ponies bratty and anorexic.

Hola Future Me

The letter from the time capsule. Hola future me! If you're reading this, I'm hoping there is a very sparkly diamond on your left hand. Anyway, this is pretty awesome. How man times do you get to write a letter to yourself? Right now, I'm currently 14 years 8 months and 21 days old not that I'm counting or anything. Today my favorite color is yellow. Yesterday it was orange. Right now I'm totally hyped about the 4th Twilight book coming out. I'm not excited about drum line. At the current moment I hate it.  I've got a dog names Ginger, I wanted to name her Snoopy or Snufaluffagus. She's a hyper freak and I hate when she licks my toes or keeps me up at night. But she's cute. I'm really excited to learn how to drive. I'm going to Horizon this year, not at all excited about being a wimpy freshman. I hate gym and I'm sport/game challenged. I had my first ever free slur pie from 7/11 this Friday. I love orange juice, Smores Poptarts, ...

His Name is Sammy

Whenever I introduce people to my boyfriend, they're always confused. I introduce him as Sammy, and they stand there for a moment awkwardly trying to figure out if that's what they should actually refer to him as. I'm here to set the record straight, his name is Sammy. Well, legally it's Samuel but he goes by Sammy. No, it's not some pet name I call him by. Yes, it's what he tells his boss, co-workers, and professors to call him when they first meet. His name is Sammy. That's something I've always loved about him, it's so unique. I'd never met a Sammy before I met him. Speaking of Senor Sammy, I'm so proud of him! He's been to two job interviews in the last week. The first one was for a bank teller job, and the second was at Dish Network. After going to the bank interview, he was a bit worried about how to fit school in. So we were counting on Dish. Well, he gets into the interview and they ask him about his availability. He flat u...

Opening the TIME CAPSULE

When I was fourteen, my friends and I made time capsules to open when we graduated high school. I just found mine the other day and excitedly opened it. It made me laugh so hard and think about how much I've changed in those years, yet how I eventually came back to being that quirky fourteen year old me I loved so much. Here's what was inside. It was a very sad sight! The first thing I pulled out was a note that the coolest girl in school gave me. It pretty much made my life back in the day. A 'story' my friend and I wrote one boring day where we just wrote down conversations happening in the room down and made it a story. I was under the impression that I would eventually go on a date with one of the guys in the convo, so I put it in the time capsule. I eventually did get a few dates, but now that guy is he who shall not be named. Lets just say, I've had plenty of dreams where Sammy beats the crap out of him and they bring me much happiness when I wa...

I'm Not Wearing Pants!

First off, I'm guest blogging posting, whatever you call it at   Becoming Bailey . Bailey's awesome and I love reading her blog, and we share a love of NCIS together. Check it out! I finally did it. I finally jumped on the jegging train. Skinny jeans are in. And they look so cute! But I haven't been able to rock them since, well, my skater girl days. My sweet sixteen. The only picture I could find of me in skinny jeans. Getting pop dumped on your head isn't as fun as it looks. Skater days me. So I've been a little sad. Because I have all these graphic tees, and I want to wear them. But I still want to look like myself now. And myself now does not look like that. Alas, I thought all was lost. Until Joice told me to try jeggings. I thought she was crazy! Jeggings, oh those mocked pants. I thought they would be even tighter than skinny jeans! And those are just unbearable! I gave them a chance though, and am quite happy.  I thought you all would ...

Primary Update

Jinx. Oh how they work. I went into Sunday dreading Primary a little bit, and came out feeling uplifted. It helped a ton that it was Fast Sunday. This was one of the Fast Sundays where I've actually felt the Spirit so strong and felt strong myself. Not mopey and tired and miserable. It was an amazing experience and has really increased my testimony of fasting.  Singing time was AWESOME. When I came in, one kid was leaping on the floor dramatically. I asked him what he was doing, and he said he was making the little girl laugh. (These are the two who tell me every week they're getting married.) After that he sat in his chair and everything was fine. I was glad his future wife was there because she really calms him down. Oh woman, we are talented what can I say. But all the kids stayed seated, no one had to sit with us and it was good. There were a few tears, but I was able to stop them! I do have some motherly instincts! Yes!  I remembered to get the kids crayons and pape...

Summer Goals Update

Goals check in! Two weeks into summer, and things are going great. It's summer, summer, summer time. So far: I've been certified as an Apple Product Professional and Apple Sales Professional. Read four books!  (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Mind Games, Underworld, Origin) Haven't gone swimming yet but have had lots of sun time, and reading books in the sun Saw a man walking a llama and a goat in downtown Denver. Yes. A llama. I was running late for work so I couldn't run to get a picture. Wasn't really a goal, but I love llamas. It's Sammy and me Llamafied! I want this. Now I need to work on that Lds.org checking, and just working on my spirituality in general. Today's a new day, I've got some time.

Primary Randoms

I have a moment every week during singing time where I seriously consider walking out and not coming back. I have a hard time transitioning out of my Primary voice after class.  I really miss going to Sunday school and Relief society. I miss leaving feeling uplifted and like I've learned exactly what I need.  I have so much respect for mothers.  Primary makes me scared to have children.  I watched an episode of SuperNanny hoping it would teach me how to control the kids better. It didn't.  Bullying starts early. I'm so shocked by the things that I hear every week and have no idea how to respond.  There's one little boy in my class who makes me want to cry every week. He is so sweet. He always sits right next to me, even if I have to move to separate some of the other kids. He always smiles so big whenever asked to say the prayer of pick something off the board, he doesn't expect he's going to be picked and when he is he's so happ...
