When I was fourteen, my friends and I made time capsules to open when we graduated high school. I just found mine the other day and excitedly opened it. It made me laugh so hard and think about how much I've changed in those years, yet how I eventually came back to being that quirky fourteen year old me I loved so much. Here's what was inside.

It was a very sad sight!
The first thing I pulled out was a note that the coolest girl in school gave me. It pretty much made my life back in the day.
A 'story' my friend and I wrote one boring day where we just wrote down conversations happening in the room down and made it a story. I was under the impression that I would eventually go on a date with one of the guys in the convo, so I put it in the time capsule. I eventually did get a few dates, but now that guy is he who shall not be named. Lets just say, I've had plenty of dreams where Sammy beats the crap out of him and they bring me much happiness when I wake up.
This was the Halloween goblin I created and a few people passed around our middle school. A few being the important word. It was my excuse to flirt with the cute boys in our ward.
This is a pink ribbon I took home with me from my best friends birthday party. It was sitting at all our place matts and I thought they were pretty so I took it home with me. When I found out my friends mom always reuses decorations I felt horrible so I brought the ribbon back. My friend Jessica. Originally this note accused me of being a kleptomaniac but her mom changed it at the last moment.
A picture Jessica drew before we took a self defense class. Close enough to karate
This is how my pop top collection started. On the last day of school, Jessica told me she puts pop tops on her shoes for good luck. I started doing that, and this was the first dead shoelace of good luck.
A link from the shower curtain in the first apartment we lived in in Colorado. I put it on my bike and have had it ever since
A letter to my future self. I'll post the contents later in the week. It was very hard to read through.
The Peanuts toothbrush that I swore I would use the rest of my life. Not the same toothbrush, the brand. But the thing is, this is made for kids teeth. I discovered adult toothbrushes, they're a.maz.ing.
My first flip phone. It broke when I was sitting on a hammock and the keychain on it got caught on the hammock and I didn't realize that until I got back from a church camp, a very rainy week later.
What I thought my prom dress would look like. Not even close.

What I thought my car would look like. Oh geez.
I was convinced I was going to BYU. Provo to be exact. HA! That didn't happen. I didn't even apply.
All I wore was converse. That continued for three more years. Then I finally couldn't kill my feet anymore. When will they make converse that are actually good for your feet?
My favorite shows were Fetch! With Ruff Ruffman and I was obsessed with Perry the Platypus. I was soon shown the light that was NCIS.
All my best girl friends. It makes me sad I only somewhat know what's going on with one of them.
This was right before Breaking Dawn came out. Stephanie Meyer was releasing a quote a day on her website and I wanted them so that whenever I opened this, I would know what the quotes meant. I still like Twilight, and I know what they mean.
The story Jessica and I wrote together. There's a version of it on my blog somewhere. It's pretty crazy and includes many pop culture references from 2008
It was so fun looking through here. I have another time capsule that I'm going to open the night before my wedding and I'm excited to see what's in there! I'm going to keep making time capsules to open every very few years.
I really want to do that. I LOVE that idea.
