Weeks 36-37

Week 36 I had my 36 week appointment where I had the oh so fun strep b test, along with an ultrasound to see what way the baby is sitting. He was head down right where he should be and the doctor said that the odds are very small that he would flip out of position. I asked her how big he is and she said that it's really easy for them to tell if a baby is going to be super small or super large, but otherwise it's just guesswork, but if she had to guess he'd probably be around 6.5-7lbs at birth if I went to 40 weeks. I guess he's a little more on the smaller side but nothing to worry about. My belly measured 35 cm. She tried to get a peek at his face and he was looking at the camera when she first looked, but then he turned away and wouldn't turn back. In that quick glimpse that I saw, he still looks like he did in the ultrasound a few weeks ago, definitely has Sammy's nose, and the same big lips. I saw him blink which was pretty creepy in black and white...

Weeks 34-35

Week 34  I started off the week with a visit to the doctor because my leg had been numb and tingly for a few hours, and I had a spot in my calf that hurt. I chatted with the advice line and they said I should come in just to make sure everything was okay. I spent all day worried that I had a blood clot or something, but when I actually got there everything was fine. Turns out it's just sciatic pain and it feels different from what I've experienced before, and my calf is sore from driving. I felt pretty silly but it's better to be safe than sorry. Sammy and I went out for a fro yo date, something we haven't done all summer! We went to a place that has iPads on every table for you to play games. Last time we were there, we played checkers all night which was so much fun. This time though they'd changed the games and we couldn't figure out how to play any of them. It was pretty sad. As we were leaving, we saw an actual checker board tucked in the corner and fe...

Weeks 32-33

Week 32 I had another doctor's appointment where I learned that my blood pressure is on the low end, which explains why I felt like I was going to pass out at work that one day, why it's such a struggle to stand for long periods of time, and why I keep getting dizzy randomly. There's not really anything I can do about it though except hope that my legs start to swell up which will cause my blood pressure to rise. 😂. My belly measured at 31 cm which is within the normal range, and baby's heartbeat sounded good. My doctor thinks he was head down because of where she was finding the heartbeat. Here's hoping he stays that way! I was really craving a McFlurry, and then the book I was reading had an entire scene of people eating them, so Sammy was kind enough to pick me one up for dinner :) He's been so great with getting all of my cravings. I'm definitely starting to feel the limits of my shrinking stomach though, I was so full from just eating a six inch...

Weeks 30-31

Week 30  It's getting harder and harder to move. In the middle of the night I rolled over too quickly and felt horrible stabbing in my round ligaments. The next morning I could barely walk because there was throbbing pain all down my side, in my groin that went under my left leg. It was a big struggle trying to get around all day at work. That night Sammy bought me the KT tape that my doctor recommended and we put some on. Five minutes later, the pain was gone. But, every time I got up, I felt tingling in my legs and like I couldn't breathe. It kept happening every time I got up, so I took the tape off and called the doctor. It took a few nurses to figure out what was happening, but I was most likely just getting up way too fast because it was the first time I wasn't in pain for quite some time. They said it's very normal to have tingling in the legs or feel out of breath in the 3rd trimester because your body is struggling to get the blood where it needs to go and...
