First Day of Church

We went to our new ward for the first time on Father's day. It was so exciting. Sammy and I were going together, something I've been waiting for for sooooo long! We had 9:00 church which was nice but also not nice because no sleeping in. We were also a bit late because we didn't know where the building was. Because of this, we had to sit in the front row where everyone was staring at us. The kids behind us were really stressing me out, they were breathing in a weird, gagging, stressed manner. I thought perhaps one of them was having a panic attack.  After being in the same ward for 16 years, it was weird being in this one. There wasn't a familiar face anywhere around me besides my husband of course:) The primary got up to sing and I was shocked at how small their primary was and well behaved! Not one kid tried to sing directly into the microphone. Sammy and I rated the little girls dresses.  After sacrament, we stood there lost. Luckily, the bishops wife came u...

The Real World

Leaving Estes stank. I didn't want to go back home to the real world. We were so relaxed up in the mountains in that little cottage. Sammy didn't crack his bones like crazy once he was so relaxed, and the huge knot in my shoulder that I have dubbed Frank didn't make one appearance. It was perfection up there :) Sammy waiting for me so we can go home.  As soon as we were in the car though and hit construction, the cracking started, Frank appeared. We were still in the mountains but our bodies knew it was over. Time to get back in the real world. The drive back was a bit stressful because of construction. We had to wait a good ten to twenty minutes for a truck to appear with a sign that said follow me, and then we'd follow him about a mile down the road and have to start the wait all over again. The roads were small and dirt and destruction from the floods was on all sides. We reached home and unpacked our things which is when Sammy and I got into our first fi...

Honeymoon- Day 3

Tuesday was our last full day up in Estes. So we wore our tourist t shirts! And headed back to the Egg and I for breakfast. I loved that pancake so much, I needed another one! It was just as good the second day as well. In vacation tradition, we went back to the cottage and took a nap. Then, we headed up to Rocky Mountain National Park. This is one of Sammy's families favorite place to take people when they visit Colorado so I was excited to see what was so amazing! By the time we headed out though, it had started to lightly rain. It's CO though, so we weren't worried about it being yukky the whole day. And boy, was it beautiful. We stopped the car and found this beautiful bridge that looked over this marsh. It was raining slightly, and Sammy and I looked for salamanders. The sign said they were there! Unfortunately, we didn't see any though. The view was gorgeous and it felt like this was our place because no one else was around.  Sammy drove through the pa...

Honeymoon- Day 2

On Monday, we woke up nice and late! It was so nice to sleep in! Then we walked down the hill to get some breakfast. We went to The Egg and I. I'd never been there before but I love breakfast so I was so excited. Since we got there so late, we were immediately seated. Sammy and I are that annoying couple who sit next to each other in a booth:) It was so unreal just being there the two of us eating where we wanted when we did. And we were married! I ordered the apple cinnamon granola pancake. It was the best pancake of my life. Seriously. I get chills just thinking about that pancake. Sammy got an omelet which I had bites of as well. I'd never thought to put sour cream on an omelet. So. Good. We were probably so annoying sitting at our booth, moaning every few seconds because the food was zoo good. Whoever thought to put apples AND granola into a pancake deserves an award.  After breakfast and the walk back, we were so full and in bliss that we took a nap. An hour nap. B...

Honeymoon- Day 1

I don't have our official wedding pictures back yet, so I'm going to go a bit backwards documenting wise! Sammy and I went up to Estes Park for our honeymoon. I've lived in CO most of my life and I've only been up there once and that was for outdoor ed in 6th grade. Where everyone proceeded to throw up coming down the mountain. So, I've always been a bit wary of Estes. But when I let go of the reigns and let Sammy plan our honeymoon, that's where we went! And it was the best trip of my life! It's a bit up to Estes from our house though so the first night we stayed in a hotel in Broomfield called Aloft. It was SUPER nice. There was color everywhere and everything was very modern and cool and yeah! I forgot to bring a dress to change into after the wedding so we pulled up to the hotel in my dress. With a car that looked like this. We had to pull over three times to take cans off the back, cans off the roof, and balloons off the antenna. Every time we ...

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful parents! I love them so much and after being married almost two weeks, it's so amazing and beautiful to me that they've been married for 23 years! I love that our anniversaries are in the same month. Then Now :)

Restroom Rules

(I'm so excited. This story is one of the many many reasons why I fell in love with Lauren and her blog. So here she is to share! Let's just say, that I will most likely be breaking the restroom rules as well. I already sit outside the door whenever Sammy's in the bathroom and slide things under the door till he comes back to me! Hahaha!:)) Hey ladies, my name is Lauren and I blog over at The Best F Words . I'm so excited for Kylee and her wedding day. I'm glad she's taking some time away from the blogosphere and enjoying her time with her new husband! And I'm glad I get the opportunity to take over for the day! A couple years ago, right after my husband and I were married, I went to a bridal shower for a friend of mine. It was an absolute blast; we all rocked feather boas, ate great food, played hilarious games, and watched a very sweet friend be showered with love before her big day. But a comment was made that surprised me... Let me back up. As I sa...
