Dinosaur

The one thing that I wanted to do in Florida was go to a build a dino store. We didn't get to go, buuuutt Lexy and Mike were so sweet to go for us and get Aaron a dinosaur. He absolutely loves it! He loves to whack it's face. He also loves hanging out with his aunt and uncle.  We had a fun day visiting their new apartment and going out for lunch. I went down the slide with Aaron for the first time and he smiled so big at the end.

Dada

Aaron is teething so he's pretty unhappy. He's also babbling a whole lot more and one of his favorite new words is dada. When he first started saying it, he was screaming it in frustration. But then he started saying it whenever he saw Sammy and it's been so cute!  It also came in handy when Aaron had a poopy diaper and I asked him who he wanted to change it. Sammy walked in and he said dada.

Fuzzy's Tacos

One of our favorite places to go is Fuzzy's tacos. That was the first place that we went out to eat as a family after Aaron was born. He slept the whole time.  We went again and had a pretty different experience. Aaron did not want to sit in his car seat, and he did not want me to hold him. We tried to entertain him with a cup that he could throw on the ground, but he threw it too far for us to get. So he settled with sitting like this.

Thoughts on Mother’s Day

This being my first mother’s day with an actual baby, I have a lot of thoughts. I remember how excited I was when we found out that I was pregnant. I’d been feeling like something was missing in my life, and once I knew Aaron was coming, I knew that was it. I had no idea in that moment just how much motherhood was going to change my life. I look back at my old blog posts when I was pregnant and I was so scared of losing the old me, and I did. But that’s okay. I’m still figuring out this new me and while that’s scary and sometimes frustrating, it’s also amazing and exciting. I get to recreate myself right now. I’m learning how to forgive and make new friendships and be assertive and love someone else with everything I have, and still have more love to give the next day. I get to see small miracles everyday and Heavenly Father’s hand in my life every single day. I get to look at the world with new eyes and see how wonderful it is just to be able to wiggle your fingers, or hear a bird chi...

X-Ray

I took Aaron to a GI specialist because he'd been having some weird stomach issues along with his low weight gain. I'd tried to get him an appointment with his primary care doctor to discuss what to feed him, but they couldn't get me in for three weeks. So, I called the children's hospital, dropped the names of other specialists he'd seen, and they got me an appointment a few days later.  The specialist wasn't too concerned about his weight or other issues, but was concerned that he'd started vomiting solids and wanted to make sure that his intestines were all in the correct places. So, they scheduled him for an x-ray a few days later.  Aaron had to fast so we had to wake him up early and feed him. We were worried that he'd be super cranky from not eating, but he actually slept the rest of the morning and I had to wake him up. He was so confused and was giving me the weirdest faces.    Aaron chatted in the car the whole way to the hospita...

TV Time

Aaron loves tv. His favorite show is Magnum PI, the new version of course. Any time it's on, he'll sit and watch it. He was crossing his little legs and I was dying from the cuteness!  He loves to sit with Grandma and watch  Sometimes I'll be trying to put him down for a nap but he'll fight me hard and instead I'll snuggle him in my arm and let him watch for a little bit until he's ready.

Florida

Sammy, Aaron, and I went to Florida back in March. To say that I was anxious before that trip would be an understatement. I hate flying as it is, but to do it with a baby? Oh boy. Plus, a million other elements that I spent quite a bit of time in therapy talking about ;) The flight there actually went pretty smoothly. We were running a little late to the airport because we didn't realize that we'd have to wait for the shuttle to fill up before it would take us there. Aaron was very confused on the shuttle at five in the morning. I may or may not have smacked Sammy on the escalator to security, yelling that it wasn't my fault he didn't eat breakfast and was so grumpy. He didn't even remember I'd done that by the end of the day. Not my finest moment. Security went very smoothly though thanks to the advice of my awesome mom friends. We ended up full on running to our gate to get there in time for family boarding. Since we were taking Southwest, we NEEDED t...
