The Aquarium

We took Aaron to a new aquarium and it was so much fun. I was so excited to take Aaron because he's noticed fish the few times we've been around them. And, for my own selfish reasons. 
The drive to the aquarium was a bit eventful. Sammy told me to turn the map off halfway there, then turn it back on when we got closer. Well, because of that we ended up going west instead of east. We were headed into the mountains when I turned on the map again and we had to turn around and backtrack. Then we missed our exit again because we were chatting and ignored the map. We did make it though! There were about twenty other families waiting in line though with strollers and kids running around.

We brought the stroller into the aquarium but ended up carrying Aaron the whole time so he could see everything. Next time I'm not bringing it in, it was a nightmare to navigate around everyone else and their strollers. 

Aaron loved the fish. He stared at all of the bright ones and tried to grab them. 
There were wallabies to play with but there were no staff around to let us in. 
 This river monitor came right up to Aaron and was flicking it's blue tongue at him. 
Aaron loved the sting rays. This one kept coming up to us and followed us around the glass. Sammy and I both fed the stingrays which was a lot of fun. When they came up to Sammy with their mouths open, he panicked the first two times and threw the food and the stingrays didn't see them. I told him that nervous feeling he got when he saw their hungry mouths opening while coming for him was how I felt the entire day I breastfed ;)
 Sammy fed the otters and capybaras. 
Aaron was hungry about then so we sat on a bench next to them to feed him. He was so distracted by all the people walking around, and the birds squawking that he couldn't eat. I ended up holding a blanket over his face so that he could try and focus. He finally finished when he had the blanket. 
 We fed these fish lettuce and they fought over them. 
Even though it was crowded, we had a great time at the aquarium. Aaron was so well behaved, and then when we went out to lunch afterwards he played with his toes, then fell asleep in the restaurant. He slept so well that day after looking at everything. I can't wait to go again when he's a little older.

Liebster-ing it up!

Funny story. A few days ago I was reading all the blogs I follow like I usually do. And of course I read  Jana's  blog and read about how she had won the Liebster award. I had no idea what it was, so I read her post full of fun facts, and for everyone I kept nodding my head going, I DO THAT TOO! Christmas Lights

It’s funny having a baby and then trying to do things. I’ve noticed over the last year that I’ve gotten an I Can’t do that sort of attitude. We can’t do that because Aaron will cry and we’ll get cranky and so on. I’m really trying to work on that.  My anxiety out in public is much worse too. Now I have two people to protect not just myself. The library definitely changed how I look at places and I wish it hadn’t.  Sammy really wanted to go to a Christmas village downtown but I was too overwhelmed by all the logistics. So we compromised and went to one near us. It was so much fun! It was cold out but not too too bad. Aaron loves looking at the Christmas lights at our apartments, and he really loved these ones. It was so much more fun trying to look at these things through his eyes.  He was also fascinated by the mini Santa and Mrs. Clause at grandma’s house.  I’m so glad we went and can’t wait to go next year when he’s walking:)
