Today I'm thankful for all the men and woman who risk their lives to protect us.
I'm thankful for the firemen who stand in the heat with boots collecting change for other causes.
I'm thankful for the calm and understanding of people in emergency rooms.
I'm thankful for the policemen who come to our house at midnight to check out the man who was banging on our door.
I'm thankful that even though the sound is unnerving, I know the sirens are there to help.
I'm thankful for the strong country I live in that bands together when it really counts, and can take a day out of their lives to remember.
I'm thankful that the pain of today doesn't effect me personally, but I will remember and be strong for those who it does. May those people have comfort and peace today, and may we remember.
