Our first Christmas as a family was absolutely wonderful. It started on the 22nd. We just laid in bed as a family and played together. Aaron gave us this face.
Then he discovered his daddy's face.
We went on a lovely lunch date to Torchy's tacos. Aaron was asleep the whole time, so it felt like it was just the two of us. I tried the Preacher which had al pastor and pineapple, it was SO good!
We spent the afternoon snuggling, playing, and watching Madam Secretary.
On Sunday we had our traditional Christmas meal- pan fried steak, potatoes, and apple cider. I've been excited to cook this for awhile. It was much easier in our new apartment in that Sammy didn't have to stand next to the fire alarm the entire time we cooked the steak. It was hard because we had to tag team taking care of Aaron and cooking the meal the whole time. When we finally finished cooking Aaron decided that he was hungry so we took turns eating and feeding him as well. The steak was absolutely amazing though.
Aaron got a nice bath that evening and is the cutest baby shark out there.
On Christmas Eve I spent the morning cleaning up the house and getting little chores done, then headed over to Sammy's parents that afternoon. Aaron continued his love affair with the tv and wouldn't look at Lexy for awhile because he was busy staring at it.
He's balding like crazy and it makes me so so sad.
We watched the Santa Clause while waiting for Sammy to get there, had tamales and tasty appetizers. Aaron rolled over twice and I spent the night doing a puzzle and teaching Mike and Lexy about budgeting. I'm such a nerd, it was a wonderful way to spend an evening.
This was Aaron's Christmas Eve outfit, except the pants were way too big so we swapped those out, and then he got too hot in the rest of it so he ended up in his diaper for a bit which he was happy about. He's happiest in just his diaper. We exchanged gifts and Aaron got some adorable outfits and toys!
We went to my parents Christmas morning and had our favorite breakfast. Aaron had his second breakfast with his dad. We exchanged gifts and Sammy got this dad robe he was pretty excited about. Aaron got a lot of books and toys which I was excited about since it gets boring just reading the same ones over and over.
Aaron had fun sitting in my sister's new chair all by himself.
Then he checked out my dad's cool light display and rolled over.
He read some books with Grandma, then played with her while we played games.
We had a wonderful first Christmas with Aaron. I'm so grateful for all the time we got to spend with family. :)
