One thing about working in a library is looking at all the books. Lately I've been making displays for the children's section, so I've been going through all the books. And every day I kept seeing all of these hilarious children's books that I just had to show Sammy. Finally I just checked a bunch out and brought them home.
To my surprise, he was delighted, and we spent the rest of the night reading these children's books to each other.
It was so much fun! Frank the Monster Who Loved to Dance is so hilarious. While he's dancing his brain falls out, then his eyes, then his his arm, and so on.
Larf is a Sasquatch who hears that another Sasquatch is going to be in town, and things go from there.
Freddie and Gingersnap are a dragon and a dinosaur who teach each other to fly. Honestly, there were a few plot holes in this one, so I don't know if I'd read it again. The idea and the drawings were cute though.
The Glow book I picked simply from the color.
Sammy the Seal is an oooolllddd classic but I had to get it because of the title.
The Grumpy Pets is definitely one of my favorites. The little pets faces are fantastic.
Zen Socks is pretty long and wordy as far as kid's books go. I got tired of the story and started summarizing, only because I wanted to move onto a different book.
The winner for best book though is Llama Llama Red Pajama. I love these series of books. That little llama is so dramatic and makes the best faces, and I just love it. The llama is in bed and wants a drink of water and his momma takes her time bringing it to her, and he gets pretty upset. I went to bed earlier than Sammy that night, and yelled the llama lines at him, and he yelled the mama lines back, and it was pretty hilarious.
I will definitely be doing this again, and can't wait to show my future kids some of these books one day.
