Sammy and I saw Divergent last night. I have had constant crazy happy butterflies all night and today. It was soooo good! I can't stop listening to the soundtrack on repeat right now. Or watching the videos and knowing exactly where all the little clips fit in with the movie. It was amazing. It was inspiring. It was, I'm so happy. Divergent is my favorite book of all time and it was amazing seeing it on the screen with such amazing (and pretty) actors. All of those Shailene Woodley haters, need to be quite now. She absolutely killed it.
**SPOILER ALERT**
I was a little miffed that they changed some things. As I'd watch something unfold differently than the book, I'd be like, hey! but then, not even two seconds later they would save the scene. Yeah, some things were different but they stuck with the plot and idea of the book and added things that Veronica elaborated on later, so it was perfection. I loved where Tris is running to catch the train after getting beaten, and where she throws the knife into Jeanines hand. That was SO AWESOME! Sammy screamed when that happened. Screamed probably isn't the right word, but he yelled like he does when people make goals in soccer, which is very loud. People started clapping in the theater after that happened which was funny.
All the scenes where Four was like, is that a problem? Or he'd hesitate and have that awkward silence were so funny. Theo James added a layer to the Four that was a bit hard to see in the book but felt so natural and just, Four like.
Here are some things Sammy had to say during the movie. I may have had to shush him three or four times :)
1. That's where I was born!
2. What happened to my city?
3. Where are the bears?!
3. That is so unsanitary

10. He's a jerk, can someone please shut him up

18. OH MY GOSH! HE'S MARCUS'S SON!
19. What's Divergent?

22. He wanted to die for them huh?

We stayted through the credits and danced to all the songs. I'm so glad he'll do awkward dancing with me :) It was such a great night and a great movie with my best friend. I may or may not change our wedding song to one from the soundtrack because it was that good! And the songs are so sweet!
Can't wait to go see it again ;)
I can't WAIT to see the movie! I promised all of my friends I would wait until next week to see it with them when they get back from Spring Break... We're totally dressing up in our best Dauntless gear!
ReplyDeleteBahaha ohh my goodness Chris talks during the movies too and it just about KILLS ME. Like, just be quiet and watch the movie! So cute that you embraced it though lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm just gonna come comment on all your Divergent posts that I wasn't interested in before... haha.
ReplyDeleteSaw the movie before I read the book. I loved it! So good. I bought the book that night, and finished the series less that two weeks later (it would have taken me less time, but you know... finals).
Although I have some reservations about it, this book really changed my life. I love the storyline so much. I want to watch the next movie with you guys!
